Cold but clear. More of the DC Eastern Market tent removal.

Cold.

Clear.

Big project.

All done. The last run of the temporary DC Eastern Market location.

Time for the Eastern Market to come on down.

Seems like only yesterday this tent was the new hotness.

It’s still a huge structure (5 meter tall legs) with some amazing hard-walls and a lot of life left to live.

The only problem is DC doesn't want the tent any longer—so we are taking it down and moving it back to our warehouse.

Ginter goes to Paris

The annual Lewis Ginter Splendor Under the Glass Gala had a Joie de Vivre theme this year. (That’s French for awesome tent.)

Like always, we were delighted to be a part of this always stylish event. This year’s committee did an amazing job with the decor, the weather was perfect, and the event was a huge success.

Now that we have an account with facebook we find photos of our tents everywhere. This is from last week at the Heritage Harvest Festival.  If you missed the festival this year plan on attending in 2012. Perfect weather and great food; be there.

Phantasmagorical tree

 

UVA really turns up the style for their alumni. This year they decided to put a tent over what THE University describes as:

“Calder's 12-foot-tall "Tripes," made of painted sheet metal, is a phantasmagorical tree that changes shape and form as one walks around it. It embodies ideas of innovation, invention and freedom of thought – ideas that Thomas Jefferson himself embraced when he created the University and that are a hallmark of inquiry at U.Va”

We didn't want to scratch “Tripes” so we covered it in moving blankets.
